Today the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) has affirmed that the Constitution protects all person regardless of their sexual orientation or their religious persuation. I have not yet read through the full set of decisions and dissents, but it seems to me that the extended First Amendmen prohibition on Congress/government not making any law that establishes a religion has been upheld.
Of course the conservative opponents of this decision are going crazy, and will go even crazier over the next few days. I expect that I personally will run into a number of folks who will be reviling this decision based on ignorant and blind support of their religious leaders opinions. Here are some of the points I will be using to try and educate them.
